Job summary

Belcan seeks an experience Building & Construction Project Leader to drive capital projects from feasibility to handover in Stevenage. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, coordinate stakeholders and ensure safety, compliance and delivery of refurbishment and plant replacement initiatives.

The role covers full project lifecycles within building services, coordinating design briefs and overseeing external consultants, with a 12-month contract and up to £40ph Umbrella inside IR35.

Qualifications

• Proven track record delivering CAPEX projects from inception to handover.
• Experience leading multi-functional project teams and managing external consultants and contractors.
• ONC, HNC or equivalent qualification in Building Engineering Services or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multi-functional project teams across all project phases.
• Deliver CAPEX projects from feasibility and business case through to final handover.
• Develop and monitor project delivery plans.
• Identify, assess and manage project risks and opportunities.
• Prepare design briefs for building services, refurbishment and major plant replacement.
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers and external consultants.
• Produce and review technical reports, specifications and drawings.
• Manage project costs and oversee external service providers.
• Monitor on-site installation and ensure health and safety compliance.

Role Overview

A contract opportunity is available for an experienced Building & Construction Project Leader to lead capital investment projects from initial feasibility through to design, delivery and final handover. Based in Stevenage, the Building & Construction Project Leader will be responsible for managing multidisciplinary teams, coordinating stakeholders and ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly and to agreed objectives within the building services and construction industry.

Working on a range of refurbishment, infrastructure and plant replacement projects in Stevenage, this Building & Construction Project Leader role offers the opportunity to oversee the full project lifecycle within the building services and construction industry.

• Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services systems, equipment and infrastructure.
• Experience working on refurbishment, building services and plant replacement projects within existing buildings.
• Ability to develop client requirements into design briefs, scopes of work and project specifications.
• Proficiency with project management and reporting tools, including Microsoft Project, SharePoint and similar software.
• Professional membership, or working towards membership, of organisations such as CIBSE, IMechE or IET.
