Job summary

Ser- is seeking a Broadcast Warehouse Technician in Chessington to support live and broadcast events worldwide. You will prepare, test and deploy professional communications and data equipment including RF and wired/wireless systems, while contributing to the international licensing team.

You will build IT and communications infrastructure, perform maintenance, and provide technical support to staff, apprentices, and freelance crew, ensuring equipment is ready for projects and compliant with

Broadcast Warehouse Technician

Chessington
£27,500 DOE + Overtime

The Role

You’ll be responsible for the preparation, testing, maintenance and deployment of professional communications and data equipment for prestigious live and broadcast events worldwide. This will include radio equipment, analogue and digital wired and wireless communications systems and data infrastructure equipment. You’ll also form part of the international licensing team.

Duties

• Building professional communications and IT systems to a high standard.
• Preparing communications and data equipment for live and broadcast projects.
• Testing, fault-finding, servicing and maintaining equipment.
• Cleaning equipment and carrying out quality control checks.
• Carrying out regular PAT testing across departmental equipment.
• Managing and maintaining radio, wired and wireless communications and data infrastructure equipment.
• Providing technical support to warehouse staff, apprentices and freelance crew, both in the warehouse and remotely.
• Managing technical information including licensing, code-plugs and programming requirements.
• Supporting international licensing requirements.
• Working closely with the RF & Microphone department to share technical knowledge and workload.
• Liaising with Operations, Prep/De-prep and Warehouse teams regarding equipment preparation, individual project requirements and deadlines.
• Completing administrative tasks and maintaining accurate information within company IT systems.
• Supporting the wider team to ensure the smooth running of the department.

Requirements

• Basic IT networking knowledge.
• Basic understanding of electronics and RF systems beneficial.
• Strong interest in communications, data systems and the technical side of the professional audio industry.
• Knowledge of AV (audio visual) or broadcasting equipment
• Logical and systematic approach to technical tasks and problem-solving.
• Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organisational, planning and time-management skills.
