A broadcasting organization is seeking an entry-level Broadcast System Support role in the Falkland Islands. Responsibilities include providing broadcast support to various systems and supporting the complete broadcast chain. Candidates should have a strong interest in broadcast technology and basic IT knowledge. The position offers accommodation and benefits, and applicants must be eligible to work in the UK.
Fancy an adventure… its a mixture of international travel, wildlife photography and Broadcast System Support.
Not many people have the opportunity to visit the Falkland Islands, but we’re able to offer you this fantastic opportunity as part of the BFBS team alongside the military community. As part of BFBS Technology, you’ll join our small team in the Falklands to provide broadcast support to our systems. If you have a broad range of skills with the ability to support the full broadcast chain from the microphone to the transmitter, then it could be you!
This is an entry-level opportunity, so we’re looking for someone who has an interest and understanding in some aspect of broadcast technology, such as radio studios, transmission and distribution systems, satellite communication systems, IT and networking and content streaming. You will also understand enough about IT to be able to reconfigure a PC Network Interface.
In support of our assets across the Falkland Islands, your commute to work will range from a twenty-minute walk to several hours in a helicopter! If you know your FM from your DVB‑T and your DTH from your VOD, this could be the job for you.
You’ll be living and working alongside the military, so you’ll need a positive and flexible approach to life and to work. This is a tax free role, with accommodation included and is an 18‑month fixed‑term contract.
All applicants must be able to demonstrate current eligibility to work in the UK.
