Job summary

Formula 1 is seeking a Broadcast Services Coordinator to join the Broadcast and Media team for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will coordinate the Host International Broadcast Compound planning, work with broadcasters, circuits, promoters and suppliers, and support on-site delivery at races.

This role requires strong organisation, proactive communication, and the ability to manage cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, international environment.

Qualifications

  • Formal training or certification in broadcast operations, media technology, live events or similar.
  • AutoCAD or technical drawing training.
  • Health & Safety training such as IOSH or equivalent.
  • Project management certification or relevant coursework.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the Host International Broadcast Compound (IBC) planning with broadcasters, suppliers and service plans.
  • Attend Formula 1 events and support on-site broadcaster services delivery.
  • Monitor delivery of IBC facilities provided by Host Broadcasters and escalate issues.
  • Work with circuits, promoters and delivery partners to coordinate infrastructure and services.
  • Prepare race-specific documentation for accredited broadcasters and update manuals.
  • Collaborate with Circuit Engineering on IBC, power and cables.
  • Maintain Health and Safety standards within the IBC and ensure procedures are followed.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Broadcast Services Coordinator to join the Formula 1 team on a 12 month fixed term contract. This role will assist in the coordination of the broadcast services delivery at races.

Main Duties And Responsibilities
  • Support the planning and delivery of F1’s Host International Broadcast Compound (IBC), liaising with international broadcasters to understand their operational and technical requirements, coordinating with suppliers, and contributing to the development of compound layouts and service plans

  • Work with designated Circuits, Promoters and delivery partners to coordinate the infrastructure, facilities, overlay and services required to support F1’s accredited broadcasters.
  • Attend an agreed number of Formula 1 events and support the on-site delivery of broadcaster services, including the IBC, commentary booths, antenna farms and associated broadcast facilities.
  • Support and monitor the delivery of IBC facilities provided by other Host Broadcasters, ensuring requirements are communicated and any issues are appropriately escalated.
  • Work closely with freight providers, technical delivery partners and other suppliers on site to support the efficient delivery of broadcasters’ logistical and operational requirements.
  • Support the maintenance of appropriate Health and Safety standards within the IBC, identifying and escalating issues where required and ensuring agreed procedures are followed.
  • Act as a key point of coordination for accredited broadcasters on site, facilitating communication with relevant F1 departments, including Paddock Management, Production and other operational teams as required
  • Prepare and maintain race-specific documentation for F1’s accredited broadcasters, providing accurate and timely information to support their operational planning and on-site activities.
  • Assist with the preparation, maintenance and distribution of technical and operational documentation relating to F1’s IBC and broadcaster requirements at Formula 1 events, including the Host Broadcaster Operation Manual and General Specification Manual.
  • Work closely with Circuit Engineering and relevant stakeholders on new and existing Circuits to support the planning and provision of critical broadcaster facilities, including the IBC, commentary booths, antenna farms, cable routes, power and associated infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with F1’s accredited broadcasters, Circuits, Promoters, suppliers and other operational stakeholders, providing a professional and responsive Broadcast Services function.
  • Identify operational issues and potential improvements, escalating where appropriate to the Senior Broadcast Services Coordinator or Broadcast Services Manager and contributing to the continual improvement of broadcaster services.

  • Proven experience working in large‑scale sports or live broadcast environments
  • Practical involvement in event planning, field operations, or technical delivery
  • Experience supporting external clients or media partners in a fast‑moving environment.

Some desirable experience that you may bring to the role:

  • Experience within international events or touring broadcast operations
  • Experience coordinating cross‑functional technical projects
  • Exposure to infrastructure planning, broadcast compound operations, or facility design
Knowledge & Skills

Prior to the role it is essential that you demonstrate:

  • Basic knowledge of live broadcast operations, including basic understanding of broadcaster requirements
  • Strong planning and organisational skills to coordinate IBC layouts, broadcaster needs, event logistics, and documentation with accuracy
  • Clear and confident communication skills for liaising with broadcasters, circuits, promoters, suppliers, and internal departments
  • Ability to produce accurate technical and operational documentation, capturing workflows, updates, incidents, and mitigations clearly.
