Job summary

A leading broadcasting company in Greater London is looking for a technical expert to maintain systems and ensure smooth operations. Responsibilities include software updates, technical assistance, and ensuring compliance with broadcasting standards. Ideal candidates will have experience in live news operation and A/V knowledge. Flexibility in scheduling, including evenings and weekends, is required.

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of Broadcasting experience in a Live news operation.
  • Proven knowledge of Multimedia file formats and CODECs.
  • Experience with camera shading, level setting, and Intercom programming.

Job description

Perform preventive and routine maintenance on all systems in the Boca Raton facility.

Plan and execute software updates on equipment.

Design, test, and integrate equipment.

Maintain documentation.

Assist Operations and Production in assessing improvements.

Assist Operations and Production with technical responsibilities, for example, camera shading, level setting, Intercom programming.

Coordinate with Networking and IT on service requests as requested.

Monitor HVAC and Power, and alert vendors of critical issues.

Perform configuration changes and test in preparation for Special Events.

Work with Technical managers on performing preparations of Studio, and Control Room for Production, including checking operation of lights, camera, mic’s, IFB.

Maintain facility compliance with standard Broadcasting Practices and standards.

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Three (3) or more years of Broadcasting experience in a Live news operation or equivalent “event” driven environment.
  • Proven knowledge of Broadcasting Audio and Video standards.
  • Proven knowledge of A/V and networking signal flow.
  • Experience with Dante, SDI, NDI, Networking, ENPS and OnCue Prompters.
  • Experience in the setup of Newtek TriCaster, Berringer Wing, conventional Analog Audio Gear.
  • Experience with Clearcom Eclipse a plus.
  • Experience and knowledge of Multimedia file format and CODEC’s.
  • Ability to maintain composure during high stress situations, required.
  • Flexibility in scheduling; occasional evenings and weekends will be required.
  • Availability to work holidays.
