Job summary

WSP is seeking an Engineer to deliver civil and bridge engineering projects from our Manchester office. You will supervise junior team members and ensure quality, time, and budget targets are met across rail and highways schemes with clients including national bodies.

Based in our city centre office, you will benefit from hybrid working and collaborate with diverse teams across the UK. The role offers a clear path to Chartership through mentoring and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• MEng or MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering is required or expected.
• Graduate membership with ICE or IStructE is preferred.
• Experience in bridge design, maintenance or assessment.
• Familiarity with Eurocodes or sector-specific standards such as Network Rail.
• Interest in finite element analysis software and parametric design techniques.
• Commercial awareness and ability to manage costs.

As an Engineer, you will be pivotal in delivering civil and bridge engineering projects and will use your knowledge and skills to deliver the right quality to time and budget.You will use those attributes to supervise and support junior team members.In this role your responsibilities will include:

We are based inWSP’svibrant city centre office, alongside other teams from our diverse business, with easy access to public transport and city centre amenities.

We work acrossa huge varietyof projects in the rail and highways sectors for a wide client base that includes HS2, Network Rail, National Highways, Local Authorities, D&BContractorsand private sector clients.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…

• MEng or MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering


• Graduate membership with the Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Structural Engineers, signed off against most attributes and are approaching chartership


• perience of bridge design,maintenanceor assessment


• Experience of Eurocodes or sector-specific codes and standards (e.g. Network Rail standards, DMRB)


• Interest in finite element analysis software and parametric design techniques


• Commercial awareness and appreciation of managing costs
