Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment are working in partnership with a well-established further education provider in Hull to recruit a Lecturer in Brickwork. This is a full-time role delivering practical brickwork teaching across construction programmes, helping learners develop knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed in the industry.

You may be an experienced lecturer or an industry professional moving into education, with A Level 3 Brickwork qualifications, a teaching qualification or willingness to

Qualifications

  • A Level 3 qualification (or above) in Brickwork or related construction discipline.
  • A recognised teaching qualification (Cert Ed, PGCE or equivalent), or a willingness to work towards one.
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • Experience working within Further or Higher Education, or significant industry experience within Brickwork.
  • Experience leading or coordinating courses (desirable).
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with learners, colleagues, employers and external partners.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends when required.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, high-quality teaching that motivates and challenges learners of varying ages and abilities.
  • Plan, prepare and deliver lessons, schemes of work and learning resources using Canvas and other digital platforms.
  • Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate learner records.
  • Participate in Internal Verification (IV/IQA) and quality assurance processes.
  • Deliver academic tutorials and provide pastoral support where required.
  • Support student recruitment through interviews, open events, enrolment sessions and school engagement activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge through continuous professional development.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, employers and awarding organisations to ensure the highest standards of teaching and learning.

Lecturer in Brickwork

Hull

Full-Time | 35 Hours per Week | Permanent

Salary: £26,772 - £40,052 per annum

The Role

As a Lecturer in Brickwork, you will deliver engaging and practical lessons to learners across a range of construction programmes, helping students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to succeed within the industry.

You will also play an active role in curriculum development, learner support and quality assurance, ensuring an outstanding learning experience for all students.

Key Responsibilities

The Ideal Candidate
  • A Level 3 qualification (or above) in Brickwork or a related construction discipline.

What's on Offer?
  • Competitive salary of £26,772 - £40,052 per annum
  • Full-time permanent position - please note there is an option for a temporary to permanent deal to be arranged for candidates to get a good understanding of the college before commiting to a permanent role. This would be employed on an hourly rate of between £25 and £40 per hour.
