Job summary

Search Consultancy is seeking a skilled Bricklayer to join an active site in Sunderland. You’ll perform face brickwork, blockwork and finish details on both groundworks and superstructure across commercial or housing projects. A valid CSCS card and full trade kit are required, with a strong work ethic and reliability.

Weekly pay at competitive rates is offered, with immediate starts available for qualified candidates who meet the criteria.

Qualifications

• Time-served bricklayer with commercial or housing development experience.
• CSCS Blue Skilled Worker or Gold Advanced Craft preferred.
• Full trowel trade tools and PPE supplied.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Brick & Blockwork: lay face bricks, blocks and internal masonry to line, level and plumb.
• Substructure & Superstructure: work on groundworks and external walls on commercial/residential builds.
• Site preparation: mix mortar, set out lines, DPC, cavity insulation and wall ties.
• Finishing: point joints to specified finishes (bucket handle, recessed, weather-struck).

Location: Sunderland

Search Consultancy is looking for a skilled, time-served Bricklayer to join an active construction site in Sunderland. We are partnering with an established regional contractor requiring experienced bricklayers to carry out high-quality face brickwork and blockwork.

If you have a valid CSCS card, full trowel trade kit, and a strong work ethic, we have an immediate start available now.

The Role

• Brick & Blockwork: Laying face bricks, concrete blocks, and internal leaf masonry to line, level, and plumb.

• Substructure & Superstructure: Working on both groundworks/footings and external superstructure walls across commercial or residential builds.

• Site Preparation: Mixing mortar (or managing mortar supply), setting out lines, damp-proof courses (DPC), and cavity wall insulation/wall ties.

• Finishing: Pointing up joints cleanly to specified finishes (bucket handle, recessed, or weather-struck).

Requirements

• CSCS Card: Valid CSCS Card (Blue Skilled Worker or Gold Advanced Craft in Trowel Occupations preferred).

• Experience: Time-served Bricklayer with proven commercial or housing development experience.

• Tools & Kit: Full trowel trade tools (trowels, level, line & pins, jointer, hammer) and standard 5-point PPE.

• Reliability: Strong speed and quality ratio with reliable timekeeping.

• Right to Work: Must have a valid right to work in the UK.
