Job summary

Skilled Careers are recruiting for a Bricklayer in Coventry CV8 to start Monday 07/09/2026 for ongoing residential work on a new build site.

The role requires a valid CSCS, the ability to provide references, valid ID/passport, and full PPE. You will lay bricks and blocks, construct walls and arches, interpret blueprints, work with other trades on-site, and keep a tidy, safe workspace on a busy construction site.

Responsibilities

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Brick Mason to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and construction, demonstrating proficiency in various techniques and tools. This role involves working on diverse projects, including new constructions, renovations, and restorations, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Duties

• Lay bricks, blocks, and other types of masonry materials according to specifications and blueprints.
• Construct walls, partitions, arches, and other structures using masonry techniques.
• Perform concrete forming and finishing tasks as needed.
• Install rebar for reinforcement in concrete structures.
• Execute hardscape projects such as patios and walkways.
• Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various masonry tasks.
• Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to ensure accurate construction.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site, including carpenters and roofers.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols.
• Assist in estimating materials required for projects.

Skills

• Proficient in masonry techniques including bricklaying, plastering, stucco application, and tile laying.
• Experience with heavy equipment operation related to construction tasks.
• Strong knowledge of construction estimating practices.
• Familiarity with renovation processes and restoration techniques.
• Ability to perform carpentry tasks such as frame carpentry and trim carpentry.
• Skilled in caulking and metal stud framing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in all aspects of work.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team on construction sites.
