Job summary

Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Breast Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Breast Surgery CNS team on a part-time basis (30 hours per week). The role focuses on coordinating care for suspected cancer pathways, running nurse-led clinics and contributing to MDT discussions.

You will lead specialist nursing care, educate staff and drive evidence-based practice while supporting patients across breast cancer and reconstructive pathways.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse educated to Degree level or willingness to undertake
• Evidence of continuous professional development
• Advanced communication skills / counselling qualification or willingness to undertake
• Research module
• Teaching qualification

Responsibilities

• Assess, develop and implement specialist nursing care programmes and undertake specialist nursing procedures
• Provide specialist advice and support to, and liaise with, other staff; includes education and training for staff and students
• Implement an integrated approach to patient care encompassing new treatments and evidence-based practice
• Undertake research and lead clinical audits in own specialist area
• Run independent nurse-led clinics with autonomous decision-making
