Job summary

NHS Lothian is seeking a fixed-term 18-month Specialty Doctor in Breast Medical Oncology based at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, Western General Hospital. The post is a full-time role (40 hours per week) delivering care within the breast cancer medical oncology service.

There will be a mix of clinical work and academic commitments under consultant supervision, with regular MDT involvement and regional clinics across SCAN. The successful candidate will be based at WGH in Edinburgh.

Qualifications

• Must have GMC registration and Licence to Practice.
• At least four years of postgraduate medical training, with two in a specialty or LAT.
• Equivalence in training/experience acceptable in UK or overseas.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist breast cancer medical oncology care.
• Lead and participate in weekly clinics and MDTs under consultant supervision.
• Balance 70% NHS clinical work with 30% academic commitments.
