We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated full‑time Consultant Medical Oncologist with responsibility in Breast and Hepatobiliary cancer at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The speciality serves a resident population of 1.1 million and sees approx. 5,000 new patients each year (at City Hospital and King’s Mill Hospital). It provides non‑surgical oncology services, with four dedicated inpatient wards (66 beds), a teenage and young adult unit, an oncology outpatient department, two outpatient systemic therapy wards, satellite clinics, a 24‑hour admission service with a 20‑bed Specialist Receiving Unit shared with haematology, and a same‑day emergency care unit. A rapid response triage line operated by the nurse‑led Cancer Admission Triage Team uses the UKONS telephone triage system. Oncology has an acute oncology nursing team supporting acute care and outreach support at Queen’s Medical Centre.
The current oncology consultant team consists of 12 medical oncologists and 27 clinical oncologists, delivering specialist care within multidisciplinary teams.
