Scania Glasgow is seeking a skilled and motivated HGV Technician to join our breakdown team. If you’re experienced in heavy vehicles or you’re a technician from automotive, plant, agricultural, or military engineering looking to step into the HGV world, this is a great opportunity to develop your career with a leading manufacturer.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical and diagnostic abilities are required.

• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Experience as an HGV/LCV or plant, agricultural, military technician is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to roadside breakdowns with fast, safe repairs.
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment and tools.
• Carry out servicing and mechanical repairs on HGVs.
• Deliver high-standard customer service while working independently.
• Ensure all work is performed with safety in mind.

Shift Pattern: Week 1: Earlies: 07:00 - 15:30, Week 2: Lates: 15:30 - 00:00

Dayshift will cover call outs from 03:30 -15:30, Backshift will cover call outs from 15:30 - 03:30

Salary: Competitive salary, plus additional standby pay

What you’ll be doing:

• Responding to roadside breakdowns and carrying out fast, safe, and effective repairs
• Diagnosing faults using the latest diagnostic equipment
• Completing servicing, maintenance, and mechanical repairs on HGVs
• Delivering a high standard of customer service while working independently
• Ensuring all work is completed with safety front of mind
