Compass Group UK & Ireland is opening a brand-new Taste Café at Sainsburys Newcastle. As Café Manager, you’ll lead the launch, set standards, build a team and shape how the café looks, feels and operates from day one.

This hands-on, customer‑facing role is 40 hours per week across 5 out of 6 days, with a focus on great coffee, fresh pastries and warm hospitality, delivering memorable moments for shoppers from opening rush to close.

Qualifications

• Experience running a café, retail unit, or fast-paced food environment.
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Commitment to high standards in food & service.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day running of the newly opened café, keeping operations smooth and on point.
• Recruit, train and develop a strong team delivering great service.
• Set and maintain high standards for food, coffee and presentation.
• Manage stock, performance and operations processes.
• Create a warm, relaxed, welcoming space from day one.
• Embed consistency; attention to detail matters.
• Ensure Health & Safety standards are met and maintained.
