About the Role

We are seeking highly skilled Brake Refinement Engineers to join our client's vehicle development team in Gaydon, UK. This role involves hands‑on work in brake NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) refinement, vehicle testing, and brake system analysis to deliver class‑leading performance and comfort.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct vehicle‑level brake system refinement and NVH testing.
  • Perform brake dynamometer testing and interpret NVH performance results.
  • Analyse brake noise, vibration, and thermal behaviour using advanced CAE tools.
  • Support issue identification, root cause analysis, and countermeasure development.
  • Prepare detailed reports and recommendations for brake system improvement.
  • Collaborate with design, CAE, and test teams to meet refinement targets.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in automotive brake system refinement and NVH engineering.
  • Hands‑on expertise with vehicle testing and instrumentation for brake NVH.
  • Proficiency in NVH measurement systems (HEAD Acoustics, LMS, Polytec).
  • Experience with brake dynamometer testing and thermal analysis.
  • Strong CAE skills in FEA tools (3Dx, Altair, Abaqus) for brake system simulations.
  • Familiarity with data acquisition tools (Artemis, Link, LMS) and signal processing.
  • Knowledge of brake system design, materials, and thermal behaviour.
  • Competence in structured problem‑solving methods (8D, RCA) and quality tools.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in thermal performance analysis and pedal feel tuning.
  • Exposure to whole‑vehicle NVH development.
  • Knowledge of ISO 26262 functional safety principles (for mechatronic brake systems).
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Automotive, or related Engineering.
  • Full UK driving licence (mandatory).
  • Industry Standard Advanced Driver Training (preferred).
  • Must be eligible to travel freely across Europe and work in varied climatic conditions.
