Job summary

Head First is seeking a dedicated Support Worker for a 37-year-old man living independently in his own home in Burgess Hill following an acquired brain injury. The role involves a structured rehabilitation programme and collaboration with healthcare professionals and family to support meaningful daily life.

Shifts total 2–3 per week (11 hours each), typically 10:30am–9:30pm, with flexibility for client needs. DBS check is required; full UK driving licence preferred.

Qualifications

• Be reliable, patient and motivated to support others.
• Have good organisational and communication skills.
• Be able to follow structured support plans.
• Be confident supporting someone to build independence.
• Hold a full UK driving licence (manual).

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day living, including meal planning, cooking and shopping.
• Assist with scheduling and attending appointments.
• Encourage participation in social, leisure and community activities.
• Support engagement in volunteering and physical activities.
• Provide structure and guidance to help maintain routines.
• Promote independence, confidence and skill development.
