About the role

Joining us as a Boots Healthcare Logistics Driver (HLD) is a great opportunity. You’ll deliver first class care to those in the community who might otherwise never visit a Boots store. You’ll be part of a service that prioritises the patient behind the parcel and offers more than typical delivery roles.

You will report to the Healthcare Logistics Manager and provide outstanding customer care by delivering and collecting medicines from care homes, patients at home, GP surgeries and other Boots stores within an allocated route time. You will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while following safety protocols. You’ll be provided with a Boots-maintained vehicle and all training and equipment needed to work safely, including a handheld device with pre-planned routing and satellite navigation.

Responsibilities
  • Build great relationships with store teams, care homes and GP surgeries.
  • Follow standard operating policies and health and safety procedures.
  • Drive safely and legally.
  • Keep your vehicle maintained and clean; report any damage or issues.
  • Provide feedback on relevant customer comments and concerns and suggest improvements to the operation.
  • Be a proud ambassador for Boots Healthcare Logistics.
What you’ll need to have

These are the essential skills or experience needed to succeed in this role. Full training is provided:

  • A minimum of 1 year driving experience.
  • Able to read and interpret delivery routes and instructions.
  • Enjoy following processes and working at pace to achieve service levels and targets.
  • Physical stamina and capability to work in a manually demanding role with heavy lifting.
  • Comfortable using new technology.
  • Calm in the face of unexpected changes or challenges.
  • Comfortable in new situations and meeting new people.
  • A genuine desire to help people and provide legendary care.

Information about the role

We are looking for drivers who can be flexible to meet our customers needs. Your basic hours will be 17.5 hours per week with 2 days and 2 evenings together (Monday to Saturday). You will cover AM/PM/evenings and weekend shifts with typical hours from 8:45 to 20:00 (Saturdays 8:45 to 17:00). You will be on-call for a minimum of two additional shifts per week to cover extra deliveries as needed.
