Job summary

Boots Healthcare Logistics is seeking a Healthcare Logistics Coordinator to oversee drivers, manage daily workflows, and support logistics operations across hubs and satellite locations. The role involves cross-regional travel, ensuring safe vehicle operations, scheduling, and coordinating with internal and external partners.

You will report to the Healthcare Logistics Manager, supervise a team, and help meet regional targets while delivering patient-focused service in the Boots Healthcare

Responsibilities

• Supervise Healthcare Logistics Drivers and act as a contact for managers and drivers.
• Manage daily workflow, covering for drivers or the Healthcare Logistics Manager when needed.
• Be based at a Boots Healthcare Logistics Hub with cross-regional travel to satellite locations and stores.
• Deliver targets for your area in collaboration with the Healthcare Logistics Manager.
• Ensure fleet compliance with legislation, policies and health & safety protocols.
• Organise team schedules, approve annual leave and allocate resources.

The hourly rate for this role is £13.92.

About the role

As a Healthcare Logistics Coordinator, you will report into the Healthcare Logistics Manager and play an important role in our organisation, ensuring that your team are operating at their best.

You will handle the daily supervision of our Healthcare Logistics Drivers, being a contact for managers and drivers and a secondary contact for issues related to customer service or incidents.

You will manage the workflow, supervising employees in their daily tasks and filling in for drivers or the Healthcare Logistics Manager where needed.

You will be based at one of our Boots Healthcare Logistics Hubs and your role will involve some cross-regional travel to visit our satellite locations and stores.

You will also:

• Work with the Healthcare Logistics Manager to deliver targets for your area.
• Ensure that the fleet of vehicles is following legislation and regulations and that employees follow policies, operating procedures and health and safety protocols.
• Organise team schedules, authorise annual leave and ensure the right people are in the right place at the right times.
• Communicate with both internal and external stakeholders (phone provided).
• Be a proud ambassador for Boots Healthcare Logistics.

What you'll need to have

These are the essential skills or experience needed to succeed in this role:

• Minimum 1 year's driving experience and willingness to travel.
• Able to see the bigger picture, so you can plot out the best driving routes for drivers to reach their targets.
• Comfortable working with computers and new technology.
• Able to build great relationships with managers, team members and external partners.
• Comfortable working alone or alongside a Healthcare Logistics Manager
• Calm in the face of challenges and able to find solutions to problems.
• Able to engage and motivate a team to be at their best.
