Over the past five years, we’ve built a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and customer care — and we’re now looking for a Bookkeeping Assistant to join our expanding finance team.

This role works closely with our Accounting Manager to ensure all financial records, invoices, and payments are managed accurately and efficiently. It’s a great opportunity for someone looking to gain hands‑on experience in a dynamic business environment — particularly suited to those studying AAT, ACCA, or another accountancy qualification.

Responsibilities
  • Reconcile payments received against invoices daily.
  • Monitor outstanding invoices and chase payments that fall outside agreed terms.
  • Prepare and send weekly invoices to key clients.
  • Take customer payments and manage supplier transactions later in the day.
  • Manage parking and petty cash payments.
  • Liaise directly with clients to resolve billing queries or discrepancies.
  • Assist in calculating staff overtime and supporting payroll processes.
  • Maintain and update financial records using QuickBooks or Xero.
  • Prepare spreadsheets and simple reports in Excel to support the finance manager.
  • Assist with general office duties as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in bookkeeping or an accounting support role.
  • Experience using QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting software.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong numeracy skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
  • Currently studying AAT / ACCA (or equivalent), or holding A‑Level Maths as a minimum qualification.
What We Offer
  • Full‑time position (45 hours per week).
  • Working hours: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM or 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
  • 20 days holiday + 8 bank holidays.
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Private medical care (after 1 year service).
  • Summer and Christmas team development days.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development within the business.
  • Supportive, friendly working environment.
