Job summary

TPF Recruitment has been instructed by an award-winning practice in Bishop's Stortford to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper into their team. The role focuses on accurate financial records, timely reporting, and HMRC compliance using cloud-based platforms.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years' bookkeeping experience, with knowledge of UK accounting standards and VAT/PAYE. The office-based position offers a permanent role with long-term career progression and local client exposure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' professional bookkeeping experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and HMRC compliance.
• Experience using cloud-based accounting platforms.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records for multiple clients.
• Process and reconcile bank and credit card transactions.
• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Assist with VAT returns, PAYE, and other statutory filings.
• Support year-end accounts preparation and external audits.
• Organise digital/physical filing systems for data compliance.
• Communicate financial status and deadlines with clients and internal teams.
