A local recruitment agency in Alton is looking for an AAT qualified professional to manage bank reconciliations, customer payment allocations, and VAT submissions. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, proficient in Sage, and capable of working independently as part of a small team. Flexible part-time hours are available, along with a supportive working environment and free onsite parking.

Responsibilities

  • Process bank payments and complete monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Allocate customer payments and carry out credit control.
  • Process purchase invoices and manage supplier statements.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
  • Allocate CIS payments for subcontractors and complete submissions.
  • Produce monthly management accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Banking: Process bank payments and complete monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Sales Ledger: Allocate customer payments, carry out credit control, and maintain accurate customer records.
  • Purchase Ledger: Process purchase invoices, reconcile supplier statements, manage payments, and resolve any supplier queries or disputes.
  • VAT: Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
  • CIS: Allocate CIS payments for subcontractors, complete monthly CIS submissions, and issue subcontractor statements.
  • Management Accounts: Produce monthly management accounts, including posting journals for salaries and year-end adjustments.
About You
  • AAT qualified or with equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in Sage.
  • Experienced in CIS and VAT returns.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communicator with a proactive, problem-solving attitude.
  • Happy to be part of a small team, including answering phones and taking messages when needed.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel.
