An experienced Bookkeeper looking for a role that genuinely fits around your life - without taking a step backwards in responsibility?
This is a fantastic opportunity to become the in-house Bookkeeper for a small, established professional services business in Exeter, taking ownership of a finance function that is currently outsourced.
You’ll join a close-knit team, where your role will be visible, valued and integral to the day-to-day running of the business. They are specifically bringing this function in-house because they want better communication and someone who can work closely with the wider team - so this isn’t a role where you’ll simply be processing numbers in the background.
And the flexibility is genuine. They need 24 hours per week, but they’re happy to work with the right person on how those hours are structured. That could be school hours, mornings across the week, three days or another part‑time pattern that adds up to 24 hours.
For an experienced finance professional who wants to maintain responsibility and autonomy while achieving a better work‑life balance, this could be an excellent fit.
You’ll also be joining a friendly business with lovely Exeter offices and a sociable team environment, with regular team gatherings and a Christmas party.
The business uses Xero for its accounting.
You’ll need significant bookkeeping or finance experience and previous experience working within a professional services environment.
You’ll also need:
Previous experience using Xero would be beneficial.
If you've reached a point in your career where you want flexibility but don't want to give up responsibility, this is an opportunity well worth exploring.
