Job summary

Slim Chickens Newcastle is seeking a Back of House Supervisor to oversee all kitchen operations, mentor the team, and uphold food safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll lead, train, and collaborate with the Front of House team to ensure seamless service, drive high-quality dishes, and maintain a positive, productive kitchen culture.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising a kitchen or back-of-house team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Overseeing all back‑of‑house operations to ensure efficient and consistent food preparation
• Leading, mentoring, and motivating the kitchen team to deliver high‑quality dishes
• Ensuring compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
• Managing inventory, monitoring food stock, and ensuring timely ordering of supplies
• Collaborating with the Front of House Supervisor to ensure seamless service
• Handling kitchen‑related issues and resolving them promptly to maintain smooth operations
• Supporting staff training and development to uphold our brand’s high standards
• Creating a positive, productive work environment where the kitchen team can thrive

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within a kitchen or similar fast‑paced environment
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a kitchen team
• A passion for delivering consistent, high‑quality food
• Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
• A deep understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Ability to stay calm and efficient under pressure
