Job summary

FarmWell in Lincolnshire is recruiting a Boar Technician to join a unit in LN7. You will collect semen from boars, following strict welfare and hygiene procedures, and help move pigs to and from the collection yard.

The role requires good physical fitness, reliability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. It is a full-time position with a 39-hour week and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience working with livestock preferred (pigs).
• Ability to handle large animals safely.
• Good physical fitness for strenuous manual tasks.
• Ability to follow procedures with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Collect semen from boars following set protocols.
• Prepare and maintain the collection area.
• Move pigs between housing and collection yard.
• Monitor animal welfare and behaviour during processes.
• Maintain accurate records of collections and observations.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and work areas to ensure biosecurity.
