BNG Consultant

£45k (DOE)

Manchester

As BNG Consultant you’ll combine field and office work, taking projects from inception to post development, assisting design and advising clients via written reports. Those who are experienced in HMMPs, UKHab methodology and of course BNG assessments & calculations are urged to apply.

The Role

You’ll undertake small and large‑scale habitat surveys following UKHab on‑site mapping and condition assessments of habitats delivering BNG feasibility and design stage assessments. This work will include:

• Completing BNG assessments using BNG metric & producing site‑specific habitat management and monitoring plans
• Updating project documentation to reflect changes/updates or in response to consultee commentsAdvising clients and supporting the delivery of external presentations and workshops
• Having an awareness of project requirements to ensure that our services are delivered effectively and on-time
• Contributing to team resource planning and supporting the ecology team if required

This role is about delivering projects and providing commercially astute, honest and clear ecological advice that shapes long‑term relationships and leads growth within the business.

About You

• 2+ years experience delivering BNG assessments
• Strong understanding of BNG, UKHab & field surveys & ecology
• CIEEM qualification – Desired
• Proven ability to provide guidance and advice on ecological matters
• Extensive knowledge of UK habitat & protective species legislation
• UK Drivers Licence
• Experience preparing ecological reports and technical documents
• Confident engaging with regulators, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
