Job summary

University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a skilled professional to maintain and operate building environmental control systems. You will support the hospital estate by programming, commissioning, troubleshooting and repairing BMS controls for HVAC and water systems, ensuring safety and energy efficiency.

Key duties include monitoring BMS for performance, testing and maintaining plant equipment, and ensuring compliance with HTM standards.

Qualifications

• Experience with maintaining Building Management Systems (BMS) and HVAC systems.
• Ability to monitor and troubleshoot BMS controls.
• Willingness to work in a hospital environment and ensure safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and operate critical BMS equipment and plant control systems.
• Install, commission, program, troubleshoot and repair BMS controls and associated equipment.
• Monitor HVAC and water systems via BMS, ensuring energy efficiency and indoor air quality.
• Coordinate regular testing, maintenance and repair of installations.

Job description

Responsible for the cost-efficient operation of building environmental control systems to ensure optimized equipment performance, energy utilization, indoor air quality and comfort. Candidate will ensure compliance with Health Technical Memorandum & Building Management Systems (BMS) to support the Senior Management Team in the safe operation and maintenance of all plant and equipment within the hospital estate. Key duties include supporting building operations through the installation, commissioning, programming, troubleshooting and repair of the environmental control systems as well as monitoring the BMS for HVAC and water systems throughout.

To undertake, and be responsible for, the maintenance of the following critical equipment:

• Building Management System
• Plant Control Equipment
• Energy Monitoring/Management
• Ventilation

Responsible for ensuring that an effective system for the regular testing, maintenance and repair is in place for all BMS installations, plant and equipment.

Programs BMS controls and sequences of operations, monitor, troubleshoots, and refines the BMS to meet the equipment specifications.
