VIGO Recruitment in London is seeking a BMS Project Manager / Project Engineer to deliver major BMS projects across London, typically around £1m and with larger schemes past £4.5m. You will manage programmes, coordinate engineers, subcontractors and clients, and balance on-site presence with remote or home working where possible.
The role offers hybrid working, diary autonomy, and a clear path to bigger, commercially focused projects.
Job Title: BMS Project Manager / Project Engineer
Location: London | Hybrid Working | Major BMS Projects.
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Up to £82,000 basic salary based on experience
You’ll join an established, tight-knit and highly collaborative Major Projects team delivering some of the largest BMS projects across London. These aren’t small works. Projects will commonly sit around the £1m mark, with the largest projects delivered by the team exceeding £4.5m. You’ll take responsibility for the successful delivery of your projects, coordinating the people, programme, client and commercial elements required to get them over the line. For an established Project Manager, it’s an opportunity to get involved in bigger, high‑profile projects within a team that knows how to deliver them. For a Project Engineer stepping up, it’s an opportunity to take the project‑delivery skills you already have and develop the commercial side needed to become a rounded BMS Project Manager.
The Major Projects division operates across London, predominantly delivering within the M&E sector. You’ll need to live within a sensible commuting distance of London and be comfortable getting onto your projects when required. That doesn’t mean sitting in London five days a week. You’ll have autonomy to manage your own diary and work from home where the project allows, balanced with being on site and with the team when you’re needed. You’ll be trusted to take ownership. That means managing your time, making decisions, communicating with clients and internal teams and making sure your projects continue moving in the right direction.
This is where we’re deliberately keeping an open mind. You don’t necessarily need Project Manager written across your current job title. If you’re a BMS Project Engineer who is already being handed projects and expected to deliver them, there’s a good chance you’re already doing a significant part of this job. Perhaps the missing piece has been commercial exposure. You might understand the engineering inside out, know how to run the site, manage the programme, coordinate engineers and deal with the customer but haven’t yet been given full responsibility for budgets, variations, margin and the wider commercial side. That’s something that can be developed. Equally, if you’re already an established BMS Project Manager with strong commercial experience and want access to larger and more interesting projects, we’d like to speak to you too.
Work on some of the largest BMS projects being delivered across London. Typical projects around £1m with schemes exceeding £4.5m. A genuine route from technical Project Engineer into Project Management. Develop the commercial skills to complement your technical project experience. Join an established Major Projects division rather than building everything from scratch. Work within a genuinely collaborative and tight‑knitted project management team. Excellent longevity within the existing team. Hybrid working with autonomy to manage your own diary. Strong performers get the opportunity to take on the bigger and more exciting projects. Long-term opportunities to progress into other areas of the wider business. Join a well‑known BMS business with an established reputation in the market.
Whether your current title says Project Manager or Project Engineer isn't really the important bit.
If you’re already taking ownership of BMS projects and getting them delivered, but want the opportunity to step up commercially and take on significantly larger projects, this could be exactly the progression you’ve been looking for.
And if you’re already an established BMS Project Manager looking for bigger projects and a strong team around you, we’d equally like to hear from you.
