Job summary

BMS Engineer role based in Manchester and the North West is with a established building controls business. You will cover commercial sites, performing maintenance, fault-finding, commissioning and energy optimisation across Trend/Tridium Niagara platforms.

You'll fault-find across controllers, networks and field devices, install upgrades, and support retrofit projects while coordinating with facilities teams to improve reliability and energy efficiency. Travel across the North West is expected.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in BMS engineering, building controls or BEMS.
• Strong practical skills in maintenance, fault-finding and commissioning.
• Experience with Trend and/or Tridium Niagara.
• Good understanding of HVAC plant, control strategies and BMS networks.
• Ability to interpret control drawings, schematics and points lists.
• Relevant technical qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the North West.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned maintenance, reactive callouts and fault-finding across BMS installations.
• Diagnose issues involving controllers, software, networks, sensors, actuators and field devices.
• Complete commissioning, point-to-point checks, functional testing and system integration.
• Install, configure and upgrade controllers, supervisors, graphics and software.
• Support retrofit projects, controller replacements and system migrations.
• Work with HVAC plant, including AHUs, FCUs, boilers, chillers and pumps.
• Troubleshoot BACnet, Modbus and other BMS communication protocols.
• Optimise control strategies, alarms, schedules and system performance.
• Complete technical reports and liaise with customers and facilities teams.

Salary: Up to £60,000 basic, with OTE of £65,000–£70,000

The Role

An established building controls business is looking for an experienced BMS Engineer to join its team, covering commercial sites across Manchester and the North West.

This is a hands-on role combining planned maintenance, reactive fault-finding, commissioning, system upgrades and energy optimisation. You'll work across established and modern BMS platforms, including Trend and Tridium Niagara, helping customers improve system reliability, building performance and energy efficiency.
