BMSI is seeking a driven BMS Commissioning Engineer to join its Projects Team in the Midlands, delivering cutting-edge building controls across commercial, industrial and public sector environments.

You will commission, configure and optimise BMS hardware and software, integrate third‑party systems, test and troubleshoot, and work with project engineers, managers and customers to ensure successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a BMS Commissioning Engineer.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, building controls and energy management systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical and control wiring diagrams.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• A proactive and professional approach to project delivery.
• Willingness to travel across the Midlands and surrounding areas as required.

Responsibilities

• Commission, configure and optimise BMS hardware and software.
• Commission and complete BMS installations across multiple project sites.
• Integrate third-party systems including HVAC, lighting and energy management controls.
• Test, fault find and optimise BMS systems to ensure successful project delivery.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues during commissioning and project delivery.
• Interpret electrical drawings, control schematics and technical documentation.
• Work closely with Project Engineers, Project Managers, subcontractors and customers.
• Assist with project documentation including point schedules, descriptions of operation, graphics and network architecture.
• Deliver training and system handovers to customers and facilities teams.
• Maintain high standards of quality, safety and customer service throughout project delivery.

What You'll Do

• Commission, configure and optimise BMS hardware and software

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a BMS Commissioning Engineer


• Experience with BMS platforms such as Trend, Siemens, Tridium, Honeywell or Schneider


• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, building controls and energy management systems


• Ability to read and interpret electrical and control wiring diagrams


• Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills


• Excellent communication and customer‑facing skills


• A proactive and professional approach to project delivery


• Willingness to travel across the Midlands and surrounding areas as required
