Responsibilities

Role purpose: The key purpose of this role is to support Bloom Cafe. As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and beverages to our customers, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and ensuring a clean and organised workspace.

Key deliverables:

  • Greet customers with a friendly and positive attitude.
  • Take customer orders and prepare coffee and espresso-based drinks, such as lattes, cappuccinos, and americanos.
  • Serve baked goods, snacks, and other menu items as requested by customers.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace, including coffee machines, countertops, and the café area.
  • Ensure the proper handling of cash and credit transactions, and provide accurate change when necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure high-quality service.
  • Assist in restocking and organising inventory, including coffee beans, syrups, and other supplies.
  • Follow all food safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing inquiries, making recommendations, and resolving concerns in a professional manner.
  • Follow all safety and health regulations and company policies.

  • Basic math skills for handling transactions and making change.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support a positive work environment.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Desirable skills, experience & knowledge
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 30 lbs (e.g., coffee bags, milk containers).
