Job summary

Breedon Group plc is seeking a Block Plant Operative in Beauly/Balblair to support the manufacture, handling and quality control of concrete blocks. You will operate plant machinery, perform basic maintenance and housekeeping, and follow strict safety procedures in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.

This permanent, full-time role offers hands-on work, team collaboration, and opportunities to contribute to efficient production and on-site quality.

Qualifications

• Previous experience operating manufacturing plant or industrial machinery in a production environment.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and the ability to carry out routine maintenance.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality products.
• Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with a positive work ethic.
• Able to undertake manual handling duties in a manufacturing environment.
• Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to work across different production tasks and shift patterns.

Responsibilities

• Operate block manufacturing machinery and associated plant safely and efficiently to meet production targets.
• Assist in the production, curing, and handling of concrete blocks and related products.
• Carry out routine checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.
• Safely move, stack, and prepare finished products for storage and dispatch using appropriate equipment.
• Follow daily production schedules and instructions from supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.
• Conduct regular quality checks to ensure products meet required specifications and standards.
• Report any machinery faults, defects, safety concerns, or production issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area in line with housekeeping standards.
• Assist with stock control, site inspections, and operational audits as required.
• Work flexibly across different production tasks and support colleagues to meet business needs

Position Overview: We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Block Plant Operative to join our manufacturing team. In this hands-on role, you’ll assist in the production, handling, and quality control of concrete blocks and related products, ensuring production targets are met safely and efficiently.
