Orka Financial is working with a widely recognisable, global consumer goods business based in Slough (hybrid) to recruit a varied Assistant Management Accountant role to join their high performing finance team. The Assistant Management Accountant will assist the Management Accountant with all aspects of the profit and loss account for the business, together with associated balance sheet accounts, as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage invoicing processes, ensuring accurate documentation, timely billing, and integrity of stock and financial records.
- Produce routine financial reports and analyses, including cost centre reporting, revenue recognition, and month-end performance insights.
- Oversee expense management systems, ensuring compliance with policy, timely approvals, accurate journals, and up-to-date system maintenance.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close activities, including journal postings, reconciliations, forecasts, and contributions to budgeting cycles.
- Monitor company credit card and expense activity to ensure timely submission and policy adherence.
- Assist in preparing financial forecasts and budget inputs, including stock expenses, FX, net sales, and overhead reviews.
- Coordinate internal governance and compliance activities, including supporting internal, interim, and external audits.
- Maintain strong financial controls, identifying opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and increased efficiency.
- Manage routine cash flow updates, manual payments, and banking processes in line with authorisation procedures.
- Provide general financial support to the Management Accountant and collaborate with HR and other stakeholders on required reporting.
Keys Skills
- Actively studying towards a suitable Accounting Qualification (AAT, CIMA, ACCA)
- Over 15+ months experience of working in a busy Finance team
- Experience of working to strict deadlines
- Efficient in Microsoft office
- Strong excel skills
- Proven knowledge of SAP and Power BI ideally not essential
- Attention to detail and good problem solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
