Job summary

GSK is seeking a biosampling lead to design and deliver biosampling plans and logistics for UK clinical studies. You will work with study teams, sites, laboratories and vendors to protect sample quality and patient safety.

The role requires strong communication, organization, and collaboration across global partners, with hybrid work and Stevenage office involvement. You will coordinate with central and local laboratories, ensure chain of custody, and monitor timelines and quality metrics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related field.
  • Hands-on biosampling, sample management or clinical operations experience.
  • Knowledge of cold chain, sample handling and shipment.
  • Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple timelines.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and delivery of biosampling plans, sample handling procedures and logistics for clinical studies.
  • Coordinate with study teams, clinical sites, laboratories, and logistics partners to ensure consistent sample handling.
  • Maintain chain of custody, correct storage conditions and temperature control for all samples.
  • Monitor timelines and quality metrics, identify risks to sample integrity, and drive corrective actions.
  • Prepare and maintain study-specific biosampling documents, including procedures and sample tracking guides.
  • Provide training and support to site staff and study teams on biosampling procedures and quality expectations.

Job description

You will lead biosampling activities for clinical studies in the UK. You will design and deliver biosampling and sample logistics plans that protect sample quality and patient safety. You will work closely with study teams, sites, laboratories and vendors to solve problems and keep studies on track. We value clear communicators who are organized, collaborative and practical. Why You?

We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences, pharmacy, biomedical sciences or related field.
  • Good Practical experience in biosampling, sample management, clinical operations or laboratory support.
  • Hands-on knowledge of sample collection, processing, storage and shipment, including cold chain fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and regulatory requirements for clinical samples.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience coordinating multiple tasks and timelines.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English; able to communicate clearly with global and local partners.
Preferred Qualification: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus
  • Experience working with central laboratories or bioanalytical vendors on global clinical studies.
  • Familiarity with sample tracking systems or laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
  • Experience with temperature-controlled logistics and use of data loggers for shipments.
  • Experience performing sample quality checks, troubleshooting integrity issues and conducting root cause analysis.
  • Project management training or certification.
  • Advanced degree in a relevant scientific discipline.

Working Model

This role is hybrid. You will work 2-3 days per week at our Stevenage office.
