Job description
We're looking for a Bioprocess Technician to join our awesome team.

You will join a vibrant and ambitious team working alongside scientists, engineers and technicians to support our mission of large-scale production of cultivated fat.

At every step, you’ll play a huge role in shaping the future of a young and dynamic startup.

As a Bioprocess Technician, you will support the day-to-day running of routine bioreactor production and R&D activities in a pilot-scale manufacturing facility. This is a hands-on role: you’ll prepare, clean and maintain process equipment, fluid transfer systems and production areas to ensure safe, consistent and efficient operation. Your attention to detail, reliability and collaborative mindset make you a vital part of our success.

What you’ll do

  • Assemble and prepare fluid transfer systems (tubing, sterile connectors, single-use assemblies) and other related bioreactor components following established diagrams and SOPs.
  • Clean and maintain production equipment, vessels, work-areas and tools — ensuring hygiene and safety standards are met.
  • Support CIP (Clean-in-Place) and sterilisation cycles for bioreactors, tanks and related systems.
  • Manage consumables stock and log usage.
  • Complete process documentation and logs.

What we’re looking for

  • No degree required; technical, vocational or on-the-job experience in manufacturing, laboratory, or process environments is preferred.
  • Comfortable working with pipes, hoses, valves, pumps and cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to follow written instructions, diagrams and SOPs accurately.
  • High attention to detail and strong commitment to cleanliness and safety.
  • Team-oriented, reliable with good communication skills.
  • Physically capable of performing cleaning, assembly and manual handling tasks.

Bonus points for experience with

  • Familiarity with tools (e.g. power drills, belt sanders).
  • Clean environments such as laboratories.

Why join us

  • We’re tackling real-world problems through cutting-edge bioreactor technology and sustainable solutions. Join us, and you won’t just be doing a job—you’ll be shaping the future of food and biotech sustainability.
  • Work alongside expert bioprocess scale-up, production, hardware and software teams to implement a novel bioreactor platform for food and biotech. We don’t just work together—we grow together.
  • Join a fast-paced startup culture that values collaboration, integrity, and shared success.

The benefits:

  • Highly competitive salary (£36k)
  • Stock option plan
  • Beautiful lab and office in Old Street
  • Weekly socials and events
  • Pension plan (matching up to 5%)
  • Private health insurance
  • 25 days' holiday + bank holidays
  • Supportive and collaborative environment
  • Being part of something amazing
