A prominent NHS trust in the United Kingdom is seeking a Biomedical Support Worker for their Salford site. This role involves supporting various departments by entering patient data, assisting with lab specimen handling, performing clerical tasks, and maintaining lab equipment. PAWS has been formed from the merger of Pathology Services at Salford Royal Hospital and Wigan, Wrightington and Leigh Hospitals. The post is based at Salford, but you may be required to work at other sites.
Biomedical Support Workers in Specimen Reception are required to provide support to Blood Sciences and other departments in Pathology. The duties are varied and include entering patient data into the laboratory IT system, assisting with the laboratory handling of most types of specimens, helping with some analytical processes, and performing general clerical work.
It is important to note that you will be required to participate in the laboratory rota, delivering a 24/7 service. This post involves working late shifts 6pm-10pm.
