A regional healthcare provider in Gateshead is looking for a Biomedical Scientist to support the development of clinical pathology services. The ideal candidate will have an accredited degree, HCPC registration, and experience in a Pathology lab. Job summary

To support the development of the South of Tyne Clinical Pathology Services, an opportunity has arisen for a Biomedical Scientist (Band 5) / Specialist Biomedical Scientist (Band 6) to join a friendly professional team within our Point of Care and Bowel Cancer Screening Department, the post holder will contribute to the provision of the clinical laboratory service, as part of a team of Biomedical Scientists and support workers, which provide a service across the three hospital sites; Gateshead, Sunderland and South Tyneside.

The Gateshead site is a new state of the art laboratory with all staff rotating into this area to train on new processes. The purpose of the post is to ensure that the Point of Care and Bowel Cancer Screening Department is able to meet the needs of the service both now and in the future. Staff will be required to rotate across all laboratory sites and participate in the departments shift rota pattern.

Salary offered will be dependent on current position, qualification and previous experience within the NHS.

The post will be on Gateshead Health NHS Trust terms and conditions of employment.
