A healthcare organization in Birmingham seeks an HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist for its H&I Laboratory. The role involves performing and analyzing specialist tests for transplant patients, training support staff, and ensuring quality management. Candidates should have a relevant diploma and experience in biomedical science. This is a full-time position with a supportive work environment.
We have an opportunity for an HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist with a specialist diploma or relevant post graduate experience to join our Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (H&I) Laboratory, at NHSBT Birmingham Centre. Our laboratory carries out testing for stem cell and solid organ transplant- You will join our friendly team and play an important role performing, analysing and interpreting a wide range of specialist scientific and technical procedures and investigations relating to the issue of results for transplant patients and donors impacting directly on patient care. You will contribute to the coordination and supervision of the work, training of scientific and support staff. We will provide you with extensive induction and training and ongoing development to support you in this role and achieve your career ambitions. It would be beneficial to your application if you hold a relevant science or specialist qualification in H&I such as the BSHI Diploma or equivalent relevant experience. The normal working hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week. You will also be required to take part in the on-call rota.
