A leading healthcare organization in Greater London is seeking an experienced Biomedical Scientist to join their dedicated 24/7 Blood Sciences service night team. The ideal candidate will have substantial expertise in Haematology and Blood Transfusion, with the ability to manage complex transfusion investigations independently. Strong morphology skills and post-registration experience are required. We are seeking an experienced and driven Biomedical Scientist to join our dedicated , 24/7 Blood Sciences service night team, in a position where your expertise, independence and clinical impact will be vital.
We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record of working within a busy, fully accredited Blood Sciences laboratory and who is able to remain calm, efficient and decisive on shift. You should bring substantial competence in both Haematology and Blood Transfusion, with the ability to work confidently and autonomously through complex transfusion investigations using modern laboratory systems and methods.
Strong morphology skills are essential, with the expertise to independently review, interpret and report on abnormal blood films and peripheral blood parasitology to the highest standard. Post‑registration experience in routine Haematology, Blood Transfusion and morphology is required. You will demonstrate the ability to manage tasks independently and take responsibility for safe decision‑making during night shifts, while also collaborating effectively within a professional team. Please note that for this role, we will be providing an extra £4,000 Recruitment and Retention Premium in addition to your base salary (subject to and conditions being met).

The NWLP induction will run on the first Monday of each month (provided it does not fall on a bank holiday) and includes laboratory training (for relevant laboratory roles). All new staff must attend the NWLP induction during their first week with NWLP.
