We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and well‑motivated Band 5 Biomedical Scientist to join the Microbiology team in Aneurin Bevan University Health Board at our Royal Gwent Hospital site.

We welcome applications from suitably qualified Biomedical Scientists, who have HCPC registration and relevant experience in Microbiology.
The post is a full‑time permanent role, covering 37.5 hours over a 7‑day working week. Participation in the out of hours service will be an essential requirement, once deemed competent in all relevant areas.
The OOH service is provided over 24/7, 365 days with a shift pattern derived through e‑roster.
The department has full UKAS accreditation and is an approved IBMS training laboratory. Continuous professional development (CPD) and completion of an IBMS Specialist Portfolio (if required) is actively encouraged and supported.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
