Job summary

IMS Recruitment is seeking a Biomedical Scientist for a 6-month fixed-term contract in Gibraltar. The role involves analytical testing across Haematology, Blood Transfusion and Coagulation, plus validating results and ensuring quality standards.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be HCPC registered in the UK.
• BSc or Higher Degree in Biomedical Science required.
• At least 3 years’ experience in the relevant specialty.

Responsibilities

• Perform analytical testing in Haematology, Blood Transfusion and Coagulation.
• Validate and authorise patient results per laboratory policies.
• Perform blood grouping, antibody screening, crossmatching and issue of blood components.
• Investigate abnormal results and liaise with clinicians as needed.
• Ensure compliance with quality management systems and accreditation standards.
• Calibrate analysers, troubleshoot and perform advanced quality control.
