Job summary

Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group is seeking a Biomedical Scientist for Clinical Biochemistry in Bournemouth, UK. Candidates should hold HCPC registration and an IBMS-eligible honours degree with IBMS Registration Portfolio, and be working towards the IBMS Specialist Portfolio.

Experience in NHS UKAS accredited laboratories, equipment validation, and good laboratory practice are essential. The post requires flexibility and ability to train others. Relocation may be required.

Person specification

Qualifications

• Health Professions Council (HCPC) for Registration
• Honours degree or equivalent in a biological science which is acceptable by Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS)
• Completion of IBMS Registration Portfolio
• Working towards IBMS Specialist Portfolio

Experience

• Previous experience working in Clinical Biochemistry
• Current experience within an NHS UKAS accredited laboratory
• Experience in equipment validation and implementation

Skills

• Practical skills associated with Good Laboratory Practice.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic computer skills
• Knowledge of common IT software
• Handling biological specimens
• Able to train others
• Familiarity with Quality Management Software
• Familiarity with Winpath software
