A fantastic opportunity has opened within our Histology Team for a motivated and enthusiastic Biomedical Scientist looking to develop their skills and make a positive contribution in a supportive and fast-paced laboratory environment.
As a valued member of the Histology team, you’ll work across both hospital sites — Basildon and Southend.
This is a fixed-term vacancy for 1 year maternity cover working full-time.
As a HCPC registered Biomedical scientist you will work within the Histology Team in the hospital laboratory setting. The post holder will work alongside Associate practitioners and MLA staff members under the supervision of the Team Managers in covering all areas of the laboratory.
You would be performing a wide range of histology techniques and tasks such as embedding, microtomy, special stains, IHC, cryotomy, dissection, and working as part of a team to deliver high quality histology results in a fast turn‑around time.
Pathology First is a joint venture between Southend University Hospital, Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals and Synlab.The services provided by Pathology First covers all disciplines including Blood Transfusion, Biochemistry, Haematology, Immunology, Microbiology, Histopathology, Cytopathology and Phlebotomy.
