Planning and Design Makes decisions relating to sample/request suitability against quality standards.
Ensure quality control results are within accepted limits and ensure equipment /software is fit for purpose according to well defined targets and limits.
Recognise and report failures or deviations from expected results taking appropriate corrective action and if necessary, refer to Maxillofacial Prosthetist/ Reconstructive Scientist.
Assist planning, preparation and reporting on audits carried out against regulatory and legislative requirements.
Work independently without direct supervision where the Maxillofacial Prosthetist/Reconstructive Scientist may not be physically present but there are processes in place for direction, guidance and support.
Decisions on the level and type of supervision will be based on the following criteria: Nature and complexity of the task and activity.
Relevant experience of the post holder, including any education and training Plan and prioritise the workload within the relevant healthcare science discipline to ensure that work is carried out according to department protocols. Improvement, Monitoring, Policy/Service Development Adheres to policies, procedures of Health Board and discipline specific requirements, including Health & Safety.
Maintain knowledge and skills in line with continuing professional developments and participate in annual performance review according to Health Board policy. Communication.
Liaise with members of Maxillofacial team on progress of clinical workload.
Attend clinic and surgery session to observe and advise on cases.
Telephone/email communication with staff and service users.
Communicates with all team members and exchanges information including complex surgical/technical plans.
Provide cover for fellow colleagues in the event of staff shortages.
Communicates complex information with other staff within and outside Health Board staff to facilitate transfer of patient image data and models overcoming any barriers to understanding. Clinical Attend clinics, laboratory and surgery to aid coordination and delivery of treatments with occasional exposure to strong chemical odours
