Job summary

Study Group is seeking a Biology Tutor to deliver engaging STEM lessons at the University of Aberdeen International Study Centre. Part-time (22.5 hours/week) fixed-term for 1 year; you will contribute to material development and assessments across Life Science and Medical Science modules, supporting undergraduate foundation and international year programmes.

The role requires managing admin tasks, aligning with module specs, and providing effective assessment feedback.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject area.
• Master’s qualification is desirable.
• Relevant teaching qualification, such as PGCE.
• Fluent spoken and written English.
• Candidates holding a PhD will be particularly welcomed.
• Experience of teaching in the UK Higher or Further education sector and international students.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging STEM lessons in Life Science and Medical Science modules.
• Contribute to development of materials and assessments across modules.
• Complete administrative tasks for tutors on time and to high standards.
• Assist in standardisation, moderation, and quality assurance meetings.
• Liaise with External Examiners and provide effective feedback.
• Act as academic mentor for groups of students.
