Job summary

Activate Learning Bracknell College is seeking a Biology Teacher to deliver Biology within the T Level Health and Social Care (Nursing) programme and GCSE Biology to Foundation T Level learners.

You will develop Biology curriculum resources, participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings and college events, and support extracurricular activities related to Biology, contributing to student development and progression.

Qualifications

• Must have ability to inspire students and deliver engaging Biology lessons.
• Experience teaching Biology to GCSE and T Level cohorts is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

We're excited to be expanding our T-Level provisions and, as part of this growth, are looking to recruit a Biology Teacher to join the team at Bracknell College.

The role involves delivering Biology within the T Level Health and Social Care (Nursing) programme, inspiring students through engaging and memorable learning experiences. In addition, you will teach GCSE Biology to Foundation T Level learners, supporting their academic development and progression onto the full T Level programme.

You will also contribute to the development of Biology curriculum resources, participate in departmental meetings, parent evenings and college events, and support extracurricular activities related to the subject area.

This is a permanent, part-time position working 14.8 hours per week (0.40 FTE) based at our Bracknell College.

What do you need to be successful as a Biology Teacher at Activate Learning?

We are looking for people who can act as role models for our students and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work. A genuine interest in working with and developing young people is a requirement.

Whilst previous teaching experience or qualification would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. As long as you have the qualifications or experience to teach on our Biology courses and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.

Your communication and interpersonal skills will be outstanding and support your ability to deliver interesting and purposeful lessons to a diverse range of learners. You will also have strong organisation skills coupled with the ability to prioritise workloads and will benefit from being part of a supportive team, working in a varied and interesting role with a variety of opportunities for career development.
