Qualifications

• BSc/MSc or equivalent in a life sciences field, with significant biopharmaceutical experience.
• Expertise in biologics analytical development and product characterisation across modalities including monoclonal antibodies and recombinant proteins.
• Experience with MS-based techniques and peptide mapping; chromatography-based methods such as HPLC/UHPLC and capillary electrophoresis.
• Credible people-leadership experience, with coaching, performance management and team development.
• Ability to balance scientific depth with collaborative leadership and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience in method development, comparability assessment, method lifecycle management and technology transfer.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, Quality Management Systems and analytical method transfer into QC.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strong problem-solving, prioritisation and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop Senior Scientists and a Scientific Associate to build a high-performing team.
• Unify the Separation Sciences and Characterisation teams with clear priorities and effective ways of working.
• Provide subject-matter expertise in biologics analytical development and characterisation.
• Oversee method development, validation, lifecycle management and tech transfer into QC for GMP release testing.
• Review protocols, reports, specifications and development strategies for regulatory submissions.
• Engage with clients through meetings, capability presentations and due diligence.
• Support business development to grow the site’s analytical CRO offering and standalone projects.
• Drive lean, digitalisation and continuous improvement across the function.
• Support audits, inspections and adherence to quality, regulatory and EHS requirements.
