Bioinformatic Scientist - Field Applications is responsible for delivering impactful technical support and education to customers across the region, ensuring successful adoption and use of Archer’s NGS product lines. This role drives customer satisfaction and retention by providing expert training, troubleshooting, and pre‑sales technical consultation in a field‑based capacity.

This position is part of the Archer EMEA Customer Success team and will be fully remote supporting customers across UK, Ireland and the Nordics. At IDT, we are one global team. We celebrate our differences, engage in healthy debate, and are inclusive. Together, we accomplish great things.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Provide best-in-class technical field support for IDT NGS customers on‑site and remotely, including software training and troubleshooting
  • Communicate complex concepts and engage in difficult conversations while building and maintaining strong relationships with customers
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify key customer requirements for future product development efforts, and to ensure the value of the NGS product line is communicated clearly and effectively to customers
  • Present technical information both internally at regularly scheduled department meetings and externally to the molecular biology community at large, including conferences and industry trade shows
  • Maintain a broad expertise in the bioinformatics field and in the IDT product lines and other relevant competitive technologies
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal and external learning resources, including internal knowledge bases
  • Demonstrates behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values
  • Performs other duties as assigned
The essential requirements of the job include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biology, Bioinformatics or related Life Science field required; Master’s or PhD graduate degree preferred
  • At least 3 years of experience in NGS, the life science industry, or an academic research environment with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of computational and biological issues
  • Basic script writing experience and comfortable working in Linux command line
  • Fluent in English (Nordic language is a plus)
Travel Requirements:
  • Ability to travel (25% - 50% of time) within territory, with occasional international travel. Location close to a major transit hub is highly desirable.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
  • Strong understanding and experience using NGS bioinformatics algorithms/software, extensive Python and Galaxy experience preferred
  • At least 1 year of experience in a customer support or customer-facing role with demonstrated troubleshooting capabilitiesHands‑on experience with NGS library preparation
  • Experience working with CRM systems, Salesforce preferred
