Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) Specialist to help deliver measurable biodiversity gains across major infrastructure and property projects. You will influence design decisions early, embed biodiversity into planning and delivery, and work with ecologists, planners, GIS specialists and engineers across the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering or supporting Biodiversity Net Gain assessments.
• Ability to interpret ecological data and apply professional judgement.
• Strong report writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Biodiversity Net Gain assessments using the statutory metric and guidance.
• Collect and analyse habitat and ecological data to inform outcomes.
• Develop practical BNG strategies aligned with planning requirements.
• Support habitat creation, enhancement and long‑term management.
• Contribute to EIAs, EcIA and related environmental assessments.
• Produce evidence-based technical reports and calculations.
