Job description
BIM Coordinator or Senior BIM Coordinator – Flexible to base at either Bristol or Cardiff office

(1–2 days office & 3–4 days remote working)

Assistant or Experienced level both considered – also open to candidates transferring experience from an architectural or design engineering role into a full‑time main‑contractor BIM Coordinator role (Building Information Modelling).

Leading tier‑1 building main contractor with a reputation for working on a range of multimillion‑pound construction projects across a range of sectors including Commercial, Education, Multi‑Storey Residential and Data Centres.

ROLE

As BIM Coordinator your role will include:

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project teams to develop and successfully implement BIM standards, protocols, and workflows.
  • Assist in the adoption of BIM technologies, tools, and methodologies within the project team, promoting best practices and efficient workflows.
  • Provide leading Information Management & best practices to ensure ISO19650, Building Safety Act Golden Thread, change control and Filing & Archiving requirements.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between multidisciplinary teams, including clients, to enhance coordination and project outcomes.
  • Provide guidance, training, and technical support to project team members on BIM software, tools, and workflows, ensuring proficiency and adherence to BIM standards.
  • Chair BIM Workshops to discuss & review compliance with project BIM Requirements compiling minutes and action items from this sessions and follow‑up.
  • Conduct regular quality control assessment reports on BIM models and associated deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and the company’s quality assurance protocols.
  • Generate and maintain accurate documentation, reports, and project records related to BIM coordination activities, milestones, and project deliverables.
REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for this BIM Coordinator role you must meet the following criteria:

  • Knowledge of Building Sector.
  • Ideally previous employment as a Digital Coordinator, BIM Technician, BIM Designer, Revit Technician, BIM Manager, BIM Coordinator, Design Co‑ordinator, D&B Coordinator, D&B Manager, Design Manager, Engineer, Structural Engineer, Technician, Architectural Technician or Architect.
  • Ideally previous experience in building sector projects such as Commercial, Mixed‑Use, Residential, Apartment Blocks, Student Accommodation, Hotels, Social Housing, Extra Care Housing, MOJ, Industrial, Education or Healthcare.
  • Experience and knowledge in Building Information Modelling.
  • Relevant industry qualification (Degree / HND / HNC etc).
  • Strong proficiency in BIM software (e.g., Revit, Dynamo, Revizto), along with a solid understanding of BIM methodologies, standards (e.g., ISO19650, IFC, COBie), and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with clash detection, model management, data extraction, and visualisation techniques.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and analytical thinking to identify and resolve coordination issues, perform clash detection analyses, and propose innovative solutions.
  • Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accurate model management, compliance, and quality control.
