Overview

Genes & Health is a long‑term BioResource study of individuals of Bangladeshi or Pakistani heritage. The project aims to understand how genes influence health and diseases and is an initiative to improve population health for Bangladeshi and Pakistani communities.

Role Responsibilities

The bilingual research assistant will support the portfolio of health studies conducted within the Genes & Health clinical research facility. Key duties include recruiting volunteers/participants for Genes & Health recall studies and conducting research data collection under the supervision of the research nurse and research coordinator. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of high‑quality research at Queen Mary University of London.

Qualifications

A highly motivated and enthusiastic individual, fluent in Urdu, who is passionate about improving the health of the South Asian community. Candidates should have prior experience dealing with patients or the public in person and over the phone, excellent verbal communication skills, and the ability to convey complex and sensitive information to volunteers. Experience in health research delivery, Good Clinical Practice certification, and a motivation to learn new skills such as phlebotomy are required.
